Meet the Presenters

Luís Fernandes​

Product Manager, Bentley Systems​, Inc.

Luís Fernandes is a product manager for Bentley Systems’ OpenFlows desktop products. He joined Bentley in 2017, as part of the Action Modulers acquisition, and is responsible for the flood modelling and analysis products, being directly involved in their development and as an expert with users, delivering training, and liaising with the sales and technical support teams. Luís Fernandes is an Environmental Engineer with a MSc specializing in hydraulic and environmental modelling. He previously worked as a researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal and as a consultant in the development and implementation of hydraulic/hydrodynamic/water quality models. He also has large experience in developing operational met-ocean forecasting systems and most recently has focused on flood modelling.

Igor Dundović​

Independent Water Specialist | NRW Advisor, HIDROMODEL Consultancy & Services​

With over 15 years of experience, Igor is a water specialist known for his expertise in hydraulic modelling, water loss, and NRW analysis. He has worked on more than 200 projects across Europe, Asia, and Africa, collaborating with 50 different water service providers. His specialties include problem solving, hydraulic modelling, GIS preparation, DMA zoning, and designing sustainable water distribution systems.​

Luís Nicolau​

Director of Asset Management and Engineering, Águas do Norte​

Luís Nicolau is a Civil Engineer with a Master’s degree in Science in European Construction Engineering. He is currently Director of Asset Management and Engineering at Águas do Norte and a member of the Specialized Commission of Asset Management at APDA – the Portuguese Association of Water Distribution and Drainage. The work conducted at Águas do Norte has been rewarded and recognized at various congresses and through the publication of technical articles on several water industry platforms.​

Miguel Marques​

Water Engineer, H2OPT​

Miguel is a Civil Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Hydraulics, Water Resources, and Environment. As a Water Engineer at H2OPT, he has relevant experience working with utilities on water supply, wastewater and stormwater drainage systems. His work focuses on hydraulic performance assessment and system optimization within the urban water infrastructure, driving more efficient and sustainable water management solutions.​

Luís Girão

Product Sales Engineer, Bentley Systems​, Inc.

Luís is a Civil and Environmental Engineer with a Master’s Degree in hydraulics, water resources, and environment, holding several years of experience working with utilities and consultancy companies in the water infrastructure industry. At Bentley Systems he is focused on advancing the digitalization of the water sector, by providing industry stakeholders with cost-effective solutions to leverage their operations, driven by innovation and sustainability.
